without looking away (sans détourner les yeux) is a drawing i did one weekend. a snapshot of one undescribable emotion of a person looking ahead to her future. wether it be good or bad is of no consequence. i am unable to arrive at the effect of a smudged red just yet using the water color so i used photoshop to do that. film je me suis encore réveillé à trois heures et demie. j'ai regardé les cousins sur la 5 avec gérard blain. c'est un peu triste qu'il soit déjà mort: il est mort en 2000. quel tout à fait tragique film. il concerne nos efforts dans la vie. ils sont futile. la vie est difficile et absurde. somewhat nihilistic? charles a mort à la fin. book en plus, je suis en train de lire "100 ans de solitude" de gabriel garcia marquez. j'ai emprunté le livre à karim, un ami au travail qui aime lire aussi. il concerne des adventures de la famille buendia. i have trouble keeping track of the characters, the metaphors, the subplots. the characters that i do like end up dead after a few chapters. only halfway thru did i recognize that it is just a bunch of anecdotes (like an informal genealogy project). french ¿why French vs. Spanish? i feel its natural for people (from the third world or maybe everywhere) to want to immigrate to countries where they will have better oppurtunities. learning another language is one of the ways you can do to make that goal. french for french speaking countries. and spanish for spanish speaking countries. in the beginning, i was motivated to learn french solely because of this. then as it progresses, it comes to a point when the learning itself becomes its own reward. ^_^ je pense que j'ai fini avec mes exercices. vous voulez regarder leçon 36 maintenant.
hominids j'ai lis un article que concerne neanderthals. how do creationists reconcile the existence of hominids with adam and eve? my father for example denies the existence of hominids all together saying its all made up. he even goes to the extent of denying bio-evolution and insists on the immutability of species (meaning all species were created as they are now), mais qu'est-ce que vous pensez? existentialism What philosophy do you follow?

interesting site :)..
my philosophy (which i've read or heard somewhere before so it may not necessarily be original): the story of the creation of adam and eve in the bible is just a figurative story and not to be taken literally. the big bang theory and the evolution of man may be a scientifically sound argument but it does in no way disprove the existence of god.
took the philosophy quiz you linked up. i'm an existentialist, as expected.
the biblical account of how the world started is just one of the many creation myths of this world. if we would do a comparative analysis (both textual and semantic) of all these myths, we would arrive at the conclusion that they are essentially made up of the same "mythemes" (structural elements). even our local creation myths have the same divine concepts. now, as to how these myths came about or as to how we started creating gods and deities, that may be attributed to a lot of factors like fear of the unknown (or unknowable), desire to create a super being to explain what we cannot, or simply to have someone to praise and blame life's vicissitudes on.
for me, the ontological question should not be our concern. we should be more concered with living our lives and building a progressive society.
