civ and me go a long way back. the remember the first time i played it. it was civ1. it ran on win98. i stayed up all night playing several games. often, my brothers and i rotated playing. we were all hooked. being able to customize and choose your nation (although it has yet to be seen if my own country, the philippines, is going to be among the chosen for the latest version of civ) was a big deal. i played egyptian out of nostalgia for the fallen civilization. civ2 brought new units, new governments and better graphics. civ3 had animated rulers, and heroes. culture. more improvements. and now later this year. civ4 is coming out. its like reuniting with a friend whos been gone a long time.

vous êtes pro-choice? i am for the individuals (or couples) right to choose to terminate the pregnancy. ultimately the decriminalization of the procedure. i am for termination of unwanted or diagnosed sick babies or for economics reasons. if i know i wont be able to provide a good future for the baby. isnt it less immoral to subject them to a life of hunger, suffering, hate, poverty? i am for making it safe for women to exercise this right (however not at the publics expense meaning government should not be paying for it). i am more comfortable with the termination of a pregnancy during the 1st trimester but less beyond. we know that the fetus looks human and has a developed brain. and might have some kind of conscioussness. a statistic (heard over at a book review segment at the daily show with jon stewart) in the US have shown that those states which has made the procedure legal have less crime compared to those which has made it illegal. because unwanted children will more than likely grow up as criminals.

mon jeu toee est vivant encore avec de quelque changement. demeter a un nouveau ami. un panda qu'il s'appelle heracles aussi. zert et lareth sont les deux morts. ils ont remplacé par furnok et wonnilon. les compagnons sont tous level cinq. this game is the closest so far to any adnd based rpg game i played on the pc. its has several interesting features.

gambling: jueteng

gambling is part of many if not all cultures. east. west. developed. underdeveloped. many states even depend on the gambling industry. and because its lucrative, public services are met. like education. health. peace and order. public highways. etc. it is an enterprise (like any business entity). its entertainment where people need to spend money to enjoy. its not uncommon. people buy lotto and sweepstakes everyday. i would like to see our government take this oppurtunity to make money for the benefit of the public, following working models in monaco, nevada, and other states.

if we legalize jueteng, whats stopping gambling lords from making up another form of illegal gambling. is there no end to it? like in any business, it follows supply and demand. the market needs to the satisfy the demand. we cant have 4 jolibees in one block nor more than 2 gas stations in one street. it can saturate.

what is perverted? people who spend money (like on gambling) when they have more important obligations, but this is no longer about gambling. its about being responsible and having priorities.

i would make the same argument for alcohol. gambling. prostitution. contraception. marraige. sex. divorce. gun ownership. hunting. pornography. marijuana. that in progressive states, they live it up to the individual to decide. they're regulated but not banned. vive la liberté!

there are more and more films dealing with fundamentalism. religion. its fanatics and moderates. they dont get air time because its against the majority. there are three movies that are out in the states. first, the god movie (picture one) which is a documentary on the nature and history of religion. second, the beholder (picture two). which is based on a true story of how far christians would go. quite close to moslem extremists. and a bonus to watch worf in action again! ^_^ third, the film saved; is a funny but true movie about christian schools.

when i heard how many eggs i owe, i was completely blown away. 200 eggs half of which i have to pay before i leave and then the rest to be settled in three months following. i became depressed and helpless. what i have done. how did i get myself into this. i felt like i was on the verge of a heart attack. my chest felt stuffed. i wasnt able to think straight that night and towards the morning. i woke up at three and finally decided on it. i contemplated hard on the simplest and most practical way out of this mess. that would be to withdraw my decision. i practiced several minutes on what to say. what to ask. there was no turning back. i knew it was the right decision because after only accepting my fate was i able to breathe better. sleep better. the next day i was tired from lack of sleep. but i was also empowered and motivated for the things that i have to do. the few friends i made, who i was able to vent my concerns with, gave sincere support. encouragement boosted my confidence. i will know the final verdict at the end of the day which is a couple of minutes from now. whatever it is. je suis déjà libre.

i remember watching a couple of episodes of freaks and geeks. it brought a lot of fond memories of school. feeling awkward. trying to fit in. self doubt. backstabbing. in crowd vs the smart crowd. secretly i want to be a freak except that im really more of a geek. too bad the shows been axed. the DVDs are available on the link. the show is about stereotypes we judge ourselves with and, in less admirable occasions, judge other people.

there has to be more to acting than wailing esp when its tiresome that filipino drama revolves around crying. there is an upcoming filipino film called pinoyblonde. the website looks modern and very international. looks light and smart which is refreshing to watch. i hope its as funny as it looks. because im tired of watching people cry .. its like we as a people dont do anything else but cry our problems away.

i just heard that anne bancroft died today (or yesterday). i was hooked on her after watching the film: to be or not to be (a comedy on a polish troupe of actors during the german invasion, in poland). im still trying to get a copy of it from the underground. but since its very old and i dont think many has seen it. its very rare. she was also memorable playing classy roles in the graduate, la femme fatale, and then later great expectations. i didnt know she was married to mel brooks until this morning. they're both so hilarious. its no surprise that they were together. mel brooks looking old too. i cant think offhand of any comedian that comes close to these two and their own brand of well thought out humor. (sigh) im going to miss her. it is something legit to be sad about.
