aujourd'hui on a célébré le premier anniversaire d'appa avec un petit gâteau à la mangue (mango cake!) qui on a acheté de red ribbon, une petite pâtisserie situé près de l'église catholique de sta. ana.

bien sur toph nous manque encore. nous nous demandons encore où elle est en ce moment. si elle mange bien. si elle dort bien.

je me demande si appa manque à toph aussi que nous faisons. ou si appa sait que toph est partie nous ..

depuis il a pratiquement environ 7 ans (en des années humaines) et il va commencer ses années d'adolescence, nous nous inquiétons qu'appa aura besoin d'une liaison. et je ne sais pas où je pourrais obtenir une femme chien.

je suis sur le point de finir mon jeu. comme d'habitude, je suis ramsès d'égypt (ramsès le grand, le grand ancêtre).

je viens de vaincre isabelle 1ère d'espagne (reine de castille et leon, reine consort d'aragon, majorque, naples et valence) dans l'est, auguste césar de rome (princeps) dans le sud-est, et soliman de l'empire ottoman (le magnifique, le législateur) dans l'ouest, et finalement, bismarck de l'allemagne (chancelier de fer)

et je ne suis pas certain si je vais envahir l'empire islamique du royaume d'arabie qui dirige par hârun ar-rachid (calife) dans le sud.

dans le photo, on peut voir ma ville capitale thebes. j'ai reussi à envahir les villes romains en faisant mon chemin à la capitale de rome. comme tu vois, l'empire romain est maintenant situé dans les iles philippines sud est d'asie.

la nouvelle capitale de rome doit être contemporain république de taiwan.

during the ottoman invasion, i was originally allied with germany and the arabs. but since i was in a clear disadvantage over the spoils of war, germany for instance was making its way south of europe. i had to betray them or loose my claim to soliman's cities forever. so that before the war with the ottomans had ended, i made way for the capital city of berlin and the rest is history.

aujourd'hui on est perdu toph vers 15h30. quelqu'un l'a volé de nous.

je l'ai entendu s'écrier. elle était au garage. et j'étais dedans en lisant le necronomicon. je ne savais pas qu'elle serait perdu à nous toujours. si je savais ça, j'aurais venir au secours d'elle .... T_T soupire ..

quand on a découverte qu'elle est manquée, il était trop tard.

les voisins nous ont disent qu'ils ont vu quelqu'un l'a ramassé à travers la porte cassée (une partie de la porte était desserrée) et ils se sont eloigné via le taxi. évidemment, le taxi était un complice.

on est allée pour rapporter le délit au barangay mais ils étaient fermé pour la journée. c'est dimanche après tout.

quiconque l'a pris, j'éspère qu'ils trouveront une bonne famille pour toph ... toph va me manquent ... toujours.

elle nous a resté pour seulement un mois. on l'a acheté le novembre 2011.

for other people, toph might be just a dog. but to me, to us. she's family. and imagine someone in the family being kidnapped and no opportunity is given us to get her back. when i think about her, it hurts. emil has described it as like being in a breakup. like having a death in the family.

appa et toph au parc luneta

je te présente amaia de mhia's inu (alias toph oui! comme toph bei fong des series avatar). elle est une chow-chow qui est née le septembre 12, 2011. sa robe est fauve comme la robe d'appa.

toph and appa have opposite personalities. while appa is subdued, calm, cautious, and patient; toph is curious, engaging, and quite a fire cracker. she is one excited happy puppy.

despite their differences, they seem to get along well. i love it when toph would play bite appa's tail. or when she would jump attack appa from his blind spot. while appa remains unmoved like a formidable fortress.

we took them both out for a walk at the luneta park. getting a cab was a pain in the ass. as soon as they see appa, they would drive off. i don't get what the fuzz is about. appa's a gentle pup.

at the park, there is a chinese garden which provides an enclosed space where we could release them. they seem to have enjoyed it. running after each other. running after the local cats who had the unfortunate situation of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

at the end of the day, we rested on the patch of grass at the foot of rizal's monument.

i took appa several rounds around the park. people were quickly drawn to appa. they asked the standard questiona of what he was and how old he was. some would go further to ask how much he was. and the proper response would be .. "ah bigay lang po sa amin si appa" (he was a gift to us).

luckily the trip home was not as traumatic as the trip going to the park because someone had offered (or we ambushed requested it from him) to bring appa home via his car. thanks jay!

appa a 10 mois et toph a 2 mois.

i am looking at toph's papers. and quickly notice that appa had more red marks. someone told me that the red mark's mean they came from some champion breeding. its like nobility for dogs. héhéhé. of course, i don't really care about that.

selon wikipedia, c'est une créature fantastique et il se présente comme une sphère flottant dans l'air avec pour seuls externes une grandes bouche pleine de dents, un grand oeil juste au-dessus de la bouche, et dix petits yeux montés sur des pédoncules (stems), sur le sommet de la sphère ..

j'ai amené 2 prêtres (jarek et mirielle) pour que je suis assuré d'un ruisseau constant de remède magique.

j'ai amené wistérie la voleur eladrine pour de rapid et fatal attaques.

The World Is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman

je viens de finir the world is flat par thomas l. friedman. inspiring book. it talked about globalization. how it went about in recent history commencing with the fall of the berlin wall, the present times 9/11, and gave valuable insight into how it is going to be in the near future with china and india probably taking over the united states as an economic and military power. what are the benefits of it to society and up until i finished the book, there are always and will be the critics and pessimists who have the opposite view of .. . what more could i say except that i am now a devout convert.

the story behind india's remarkable success. when the dotcom bubble burst and with the existing infustructure (and over investment) of fiber optic cables already in place linking continents, this had made primarily communications but a host of other stuff as well pratically cheap. it paved the way for india's success from outsourcing. well not just india. and not just outsourcing.

compared to india, we lack the numbers and probably the skills based on what i've read about their government's dedication and investment to science and technology. i shudder to think where and what our formula is back here. what? prayers? we do have a lot in common in india. we are both a deeply religious and supersitiuous folk. we are both a product of colonisation. them with the english. and us with the spaniards, briefly the japanese, and later les americains. both have achieved a certain level of independence and self determination. i say a "certain level" for i think, along with many, we are still a long way from being completely free from our colonizers. with superstition and protectionism keeping us back. or slowing progress down. all these shared qualities and potential. and yet here we are .. standing apart.

the downside of globalization are numerous. i have friends who lost their jobs because of it. and i know of others who can't compete at the global stage. the philippines as we speak is ill prepared for what is to come at least until we realign our priorities. and i am inclined to protectionism such as applied to agricultural products. how do we protect the local industry from globalisation.

the advantages provided for by globalization is accessible to evil elements as well. it is not exclusive to those who are for progress and advancement of humanity. and this i think we should be wary about.

je viens de finir le deuxième tome de la serie je suis numéro quatre. une prémisse interessante.

quand j'ai vu le premier film, j'étais un fan à l'intant même. et quand jay m'a laissé emprunter son livre, je l'ai fini vitement.

évidemment, ce livre est pour les enfants et pour ceux qui ont l'esprit jeune (comme moi ;p).

par la suite qui raconte de ce qu'il arrive après ils ont echappé, ils vont rencontrer les autres surtout numéro neuf! je me demande qui va prendre son role dans le film.

évidemment, il consiste de deux parties.

sur la gauche est une église baroque, une paillote (bahay kubo), les icones différentes de religions, et finalement une calèche (kalesa). ces choses symbolisent le passé, la superstition. une société primitive.

sur la droite est la ligne d'horizon de la ville makati, le jeepney, et une representation of DNA. ces choses symbolisent le présent et la futur, le science et la technologie. une société progressive.

rodrigue is a curious and an oddity of a man. ever since he could remember he lived in two parallel worlds shifting arbitrarily for days in and out. but lately he seemed to have been stuck with one world longer than he could care for. in fact, he had been living in this medieval place to almost a year already.

the first world is made up of natural laws, amazing inventions, and discoveries. this world is commonly described as earth. and this is where rodrigue thought to originally come from. in this world, he was a student of science currently a senior attending a prestigious college. he watches science fiction regularly.

the other world is made up of dreams, fantastic creatures, and even more fantastic places. this is where he had been living for several months now. in this world he is a student as well, but this time in pursuit of magic. he is currently under the tutelage of an old wizard, named agrippa, who is the only person in the whole universe who is aware of rodrigue's predicament. well the only one who thinks rodrigue is telling the truth anyway. it has been quite sometime now he shifted. and he is now beginning to think that he just dreamed of the other world.

on the onset he was branded a lunatic blurting out what seemed like delusions at least to the people of this world, were in fact real for the other reality. his stories had made people around him afraid. he was lucky, by way of a town's consensus, to have been brought to agrippa for study. or perhaps the town's folks thought that since agrippa is just as bizarre, that together they might get along well. and so they did.

now with old agrippa teaching him the ways of magic where someday somehow he hopes to possibly discover a way back, and if he is lucky, also why ..

1. mlle. leila lopez d'angola. je ne savais pas qu'ils parlent le portugais la-bas qui je viens de découvrir quand j'ai visité son site. beau visage. j'adore sa peau noire. elle est comme une nubienne déesse. et devine quoi? elle a gagné et elle l'a mérité. et alors, FELICITATIONS MLLE ANGOLA!

pourquoi je ne suis pas un fan de mlle. supsup? elle a représenté mon pays dans le spectacle. alors, principalement parce qu'elle ne réponds pas bien. elle apparait trop ordinaire.

y a-t-il de la vie sur les autres planètes? her response is incoherent. she tried to make her point by demonstrating how huge the planet is (with hand action to show that it was round? and this huge?) and concluded with how there could be another planet which is as big. ergo .. not exactly a sharp answer.

si tu étais un animal quel type d'animal et pourquoi? she wanted to be a bird because birds fly and they're free. other responses were i thought a lot more superior (well thought of) like one had said she would have been the lion because of its courage. citing admirable qualities that people ascribe to animals made the most sense and in retrospect, there does not seem to be anything admirable for being able to fly (as it comes naturally to them) or being in the state of freedom. it is not as if birds fought for theirs did they?

vas-tu convertir (religion) si ton mari t'a demandé? her response was appreciated probably by most people. religious people. but if you think about it. it wreaks fanaticism. meaning ask any islamist jihadist and you will get exactly the same answer. my god is the true god and yours is false type of thing.

it would have been a better response had she answered with more consideration with respect to all types of beliefs. it would have been a more inclusive response had she acknowledged that there are (close to 3,000) belief systems in existence and it was something that needs to be dealt with on a very personal level because religion is personal. it sounds to me that she gave an automatic response. or this was something she doesn't deal with everyday. questions of about faith and religion.

and finally, it bothers me that she needed to point her finger upwards (your god is up there? really? up there? what are you 12? héhéhé

redemption: une critique

redemption is a short story by a friend who aspires to become published (which i do so hope he achieves) one of these days. it is a story about child abuse perpetuated by a priest of a religious school. and might i say only the goddess knows which school my friend was writing about. my friend asked me to make a critique of it.

i obviously am rooting for negro-boy who i think anybody, who was different or who has been bullied in their childhood would agree, was 100% relatable except perhaps the part where he made his conclusions (about faith and religion being at any level useful for a well rounded and productive future)

and also to my profound disappointment, having had decided to actively participate himself in the heinous art of mental and physical torture of minors .. all for the cause ..

i would say the story is effective, in the sense that it succeeded in evoking strong emotions and memories in me i haven't felt and thought about for a time. it wasn't particularly enjoyable to read having no stomach for it. but i just had to read through it if only to find out if the protagonist succeeds over his enemies. if at the end he would wake up and see reality.

i think maybe he wasn't as fed up as i thought or the mental side effect called stockholm syndrome had taken place. for i was waiting to see justice and it didn't come. justice against racism, bigotry, the bullying, and finally, the inherent malevolence behind religious instruction. justice against child abuse.

i consider child abuse a very serious matter and the way they continue to treat children in religious schools reminding me how they used to make me feel unworthy and guilty on a regular basis. is it any wonder why our society is messed up at present? what does one expect of a society that is a direct result of this system of guilt and torture.

le dernier week-end, on a pris appa un bain au garage. quelque enfants dans le quartier le regardaient. on a ouvert la porte et on a laissé les entrer.

comme d'habitude, ces enfants s'étaient enthousiasmé pour appa. ils étaient curieux. ils ont posté des questions comme :

quel age est-il? six mois
mange-t-il quoi? beef pro
est-ce que mord-il? non
qui sommes-nous, nos noms? je m'appelle ...
est-ce qu'ils peuvent visiter encore? bien sur pourquoi pas

c'était amusé qu'appa a fait des amis.

après son bain, ils l'ont serré dans ses bras et ils ont dit au revoir. le lendemain, ils l'ont donné des lettres d'amour. douce n'est-ce pas? les lettres sont venus de jordan, trisha, princess, airine, louis, et stephanie (le sien a eu les fleurs).

comment mettre boost à jour

1. télécharge la dernière version du code (boost 1.46.1) et mis-les sous son propre dossier comme ça

   c:\Libraries\boost\boost_1_46_1

2. télécharge la dernière version des fichiers binaires (boost_1_46_1-vc32-bin.exe)

3. utilise 7zip à extraire les fichiers binaires pour votre IDE. Le mien est VS2005 (vc80) et VS2010 (vc100). n'installe jamais tous parce que c'est 8Gb. imagine ça.

4. les fichiers binaires mis-les sous le dossier lib32 comme ça

 c:\Libraries\boost\boost_1_46_1\lib32

The DoDataExchange (DDX) is a recognizable method for initializing and/or saving dialog data, especially for GUI developers who have had experience in MFC through the years.

The existing DDX macros available however may not be sufficient to accomodate all types of scenarios.

Take for example a combo or a date time picker control. There are no existing DDX macros for them, developers especially those who aren't familiar with how DoDataExchange works, do the process of reading and writing to the controls upfront.

With custom DDX, developers are able to define their own macros depending on the situation which keeps the code simple encapsulating the arduous task of reading and writing data.

Below is a sample of how it might look like in practice. Notice that there is a clear distinction between the dialog controls vs the dialog data. Never mix the two. Example: m_btnMarried is an instance of check box button while m_bMarried is the value of the check box button.

BACKGROUND
Grunbar grew up in a remote seminary dedicate to Moradin at the outskirts of the Mror Holds. Life spent taking care of the usual business of daily prayers, practice duels, and running errands for my superiors. He was left there by his own father so that he could make something out of himself.

Life had been tied up to a routine until a lengthy missive came bearing ill news of my father's explorer friend, famed Professor Lorrimor, in the town of Teryk. I have very little to do with Lorrimor except that I knew they were close and they travelled together on several occasions. Father must be devastated by it, to have gone all the trouble of sending me a summon.

It has been a while since I've entered the seminary where life had been for the most part routinary and isolated. So I took this as a welcome break and an excuse to take a permanent leave and finally prove myself to be true to my faith as a full pledged man of the "hammer".

j'ai passé la semaine entière avec ma famille sauf ronnie qui était occupé au travail.

on a pris un petit tour. mama, kuya rénan, ruth et éthan, et moi ont pris cebu pacific tandis que la famille baking a pris PAL. le vol de manille à hongkong pris 2 heures. on se trouve à l'aeroport à hongkong.

on est allé à ngong pin où il y avait un géant bouddha qui malheureusement on ne voit pas clairement parce que les nuages étaient trop lourd. il fait du brouillard.

on est allé aussi à disneyland hk, à l'océan parc, et brièvement à kowloon qui a mon avis est l'endroit le moin apprecié. c'est trop bondé.

je me suis amusé les nourritures chinois surtout le poulet haianaise, des siomais, et du canard.

ma première impression des hongkongais est qu'ils sont un peu impolis. je me demande s'ils sont comme ça à tous (en incluant les blancs)? ou juste à nous asiens/philippins contrairement à nous qui aimons sourire beaucoup. mes amis m'ont dit que c'est parce que la ville était une territoire d'anglais. et alors?

il y a un peu de temps d'apprendre au sujet de la cultur chinoise fascinante avec seulement 4 jours.

mais quelque jour, j'espère que je pourrais revenir. je voudrais visiter la capitale ville de pékin la fois suivante. je voudrais voir les grandes murailles de chine et bien sur la cité interdite.

hier soir, on lui donne de l'alpo de manger et il semble l'aimer. il revient toujours même si son assiette/bol est déjà vide. il continuait le lécher. alpo est un peu plus cher et alors, on lui donne du mélange de beefpro et pedigree. on ajoute de l'eau chaud au mélange pour qu'il serait se ramollir (soften up itself)

en dimanche, emil, dandy, appa et moi sommes allé chez ma famille à san pedro pour célèbre la fin des vacances. on a eu du riz, du pansit bihon, du lumpiang shanghai, et de la dory poisson. c'est la première fois que j'ai emmené des amis qui sont mort vivant.

après le déjeuner, on a pris appa au terrain de basketball près de la maison où il semble s'amuser. il a couru et a rencontré d'autres chiens. on s'est promené autour le bloc. et chaque maison qu'on passe, il y a un chien ou deux qui ont aboyé à nous. ;p

en allant chez moi, appa a dormi sur le bus. je devine qu'il était épuisé.

appa a un rendez-vous chez le médecin ce weekend. il est censé le visiter pour son vermifuge et son vaccin contre la rage (deworming and rabies shot).

appa est un chiot qu'un ami à moi, a obtenu d'une animalerie à cartimar hier pour 18000 pesos (environ 400 dollars).

il est un chow-chow, un race de chien originaire de chine. en madarin le nom chow-chow signifie chien-lion boursouflé (puffy lion-dog) .. ;p

son anniversaire est janvier 17, 2011 est son nom reel est "anthony de choco whiskey" mais on préfère l'appeler appa. bien sur. il est appelé comme le bison volant d'aang, le dernier maitre de l'air.

ses parents sont (son père) abundant wishing star et (sa mère) aimee de choco whiskey. il y a même un certificat qui attestant qu'il est pur.

on espère qu'il commencera à socialiser et devient affectueux contrairement à les autres de son type qui sont des introvertis.

c'est notre le plus nouveau bébé. super mignon! n'est-ce pas?! ;p

1. download mo muna ang pinakabagong version ng boost. nang nasulat ko ang mga hakbang na ito, ang gamit kung version ay boost 1_45_0. mayruon nang mas bago pero nagkaruon ako ng deprecated functions issue nun sinubukan kong gamitin ang boost 1_46_0. ang structure ng folders ng boost 1_45_0 ay ganito:

a la suite du tremblement de terre au japon cet après-midi, certains ont posté à facebook leur lamentations et des gratifications aux dieux respectivement en disant (et sans pensant) comment leur dieu a protegé leur famille par exemple.

c'est amusant qu'ils ne se sont pas rendu compte qu'il y a des dieux specifique pour en parler. et ils ne sont pas chrétien. ces dieux régnent sur la nature particulierement le tremblement de terre.

ils existent comme le dieu chrétien existe. qui, au fait, s'appelle yahweh (et pour ceux qui prient à lui à ce temps) est en realité un dieu de volcan. et que le tremblement de terre n'est pas sa spécialité.

this is amusing that they do not realise that there exist specific dieties to speak to. and they're not christian. these gods rule over nature particularly earthquakes.

they exist as the christian god exists who by the way calls himself yahweh (and for those who pray to him at this time) is actually a volcano god. and earthquakes do not seem to be his specialty.

when they pray or say thanks that their families are safe, are they giving thanks that others have suffered? and also, are they going to go against god's plan in which case prayers would be useless. if you think about it.

au musée national des philippines

quand on avait pris notre diner au sentro (un petit resto philippin à greenbelt 3), j'ai ramassé une petite carte qui parle du musée national des philippines. et je m'a dit pourquoi pas. et alors. en dimanche, on est allés. le musée est près de parc luneta. tu ne peux pas le manquer.

i noticed the crowd. there was a bunch. and i thought we were definitely not in "makatey (makati with a collegiala accent héhé - private joke)" anymore. a lot were kids hanging about. dancing perhaps practicing for a school presentation. some couples and families. there were also calesas (horse driven buggys) of different shapes and sizes.

a prominent figure near the entrance of the museum was a regal statue of lapu-lapu reminiscent of grecian statues from the old world perhaps made of bronze but i'm not so certain as i didn't go near it. i would definitely make time next time.

the receptionist at the front desk. she wasn't very friendly. not a smile on her old and wrinkly weather beaten face. i wonder if she is like that all the time. or just to us fellow filipinos. or she probably didn't like the idea of going to work on a sunday. the museum is open on wednesdays to sundays by the way. and it is FREE ENTRANCE ..

there were interesting stuff at the museum although naturally lacking. it pales to other national museums i have been too. it is a wonder that it took me this long to visit this place of cultural goodies.

i have never seen so many earthen jars used for a variety of purposes including burial jars and medieval chinese ceramic wares featuring uniquely and individually painted plates which seemed to have been a priced commodity at its time. all of it were treasures rescued from a shipwreck called san diego.

there were also anthropology exhibits from the pleistocene period, on islamic culture and spanish influence, ancient burial practices, briefly on philippine languages, and then to bio diversity and modern art.

the collection seemed fragmented or diverse, depends on how you look at it which illustrates that fundamentally, we are relatively a young civilization (only 100~ years old).

perhaps that is why on the way out i couldn't help but feel a bit fustrated because i thirst for knowledge of our culture and not much can be done about it. little has survived of our pre colonial past. most of it if not all of it have been lost or should i say systematically demonized, forgotten and finally replaced by a foreign religion.

i gathered together a plausible view of human evolution that goes all the way back to the carboniferous period (345 million years ago), i thought this is more amazing than some fairy tale.

the missing link reproach is no longer missing if we consider what we have in terms of conclusive fossil evidence today. the mammal like reptiles most especially caught my attention which depicts continuity from fish to reptile then to mammals then to primates and then to the early hominids.

one of particular interest is called KNM ER 1470 (homo rudolfensis) which is viewed as a good candidate for the transition from australopithecus to homo speciation because from the neck down it was indistinguishable from an australopithecus and the cranial capacity and dentition looked that of the homo. there is an indication that the early hominids changed their diet from plant to eating meat and from being arboreal to terrestial living which scientists supposed placed pressure on the population to a trend for smaller teeth and increased cranial capacity (bigger brains).

at lunch time, i brought up the topic of homo sapiens having at the minimum 1% to 4% trace of neandertal DNA. reactions were varied. i detected hostility in some. and a few haven't even heard of what a neandertal is or any of the early hominids. and others still displayed utter uninterest. i didn't know much of it (in detail) either until i found this anthropology book filled with colorful illustrations from booksale. ;p

the conversation spilled over to the missing link which i gladly responded to with the fossil evidence of australopithecus and the earlier ramipithecines. there is a vast library of fossils found if only people would care to educate themselves.

i brought up the factors of change that facilitates the process of evolution. what is a theory in a scientific sense. And should there be another sense to that word? Dispelling common misconceptions of what evolution is. thinks like thinking humans evolved from monkeys. i wonder who perpetuates this misinformation. who stands to benefit from misunderstanding science?

it pays well to be reading up on the subject.

alleles are alternate forms of a single gene.

genotype the genetic composition of an organism.

evolution is a heritable change in genotype which becomes effected in the gene pool of a population.

FACTORS FOR CHANGE

3. gene flow is the introduction of allelles from the gene pool of one population into that of another.

quelque bizarre s'est passé, j'étais à la guerre avec tout le monde. harun ar-rashid d'arabie et darius 1er de persie à l'est et alexandre le grand de grèce à l'ouest. askia de songhai. cette guerre est trop court. j'ai reflechi.

mais après juste 2 tours du debut de la guerre, songhai et persie ont abandonné et ils ont fait la paix avec moi ramsès d'égypt assez trop facilement. darius 1er de persie a abandonné les villes de ecbatane, tarsus, et gordium de l'est de mon empire.

c'est clair que les unités qui peuvent attaquer à distance fournir un complet avantage. j'ai utilisé les archers et les catapultes.

this is what science is all about and why i am a big fan. it is self correcting and theories that no longer work are discarded. this brings me back briefly to an anti-richard dawkin's sentiment about his book on the selfish gene which he puts forward as a possible mechanism of biological evolution. it is his hypothesis which from what i understand remains unchallenged.

6. gov. taseer de pakistan a été tué en défendant le laicité au pakistan. people think this kind of stuff happens only in the dark ages. i can only imagine what kind of nightmare it is to live in such a place.

it is inspiring to watch these people and maybe i should participate actively on their weekly meetups. i was able to attend a few times early on then extra-curricular activities came in.

hopeful of what the future would be like seeing how atheists, secularists, humanists, and freethinkers have started to organize in such a way that would effectively raise awareness to the questions regarding laicité in the philippines.

anthony flew

je viens de finir le livre que j'ai emprunté de rob intitulé curieusement "there is no god" sauf le mot "no" a été remplacé par le mot "a" (c'est à dire anthony flew a changé son avis et maintenant il pense qu'il y a un dieu).

anthony is a philosopher (not a scientist). he talks about his beginnings during the first half and his discovery of the divine and "evidence" on the second part. and in between, he makes jabs at scientists particularly atheist biologist and writer for the public understanding science none other than richard dawkins.

anthony presents us with legitimate philosophical questions.

what started it all. the first cause argument. he accepts the premise that god would be immune to the same standard he places on everything else. that everything has a beginning. i find this absurd if not plain convenient.

the most compelling for me, although i remain skeptical, is the fine-tuning argument. an argument from design which pertains to the "fine tuning" of the physical constants of the universe that enabled it to exist. that it suggests an intelligence.

my contention would be is that the explanation would have to be naturalistic. science continues to find the answers to the big questions (life, consciousness, the beginning and order of the universe, the beginnings and mechanism of evolution). not knowing the answers to these big questions is not evidence at all which appear to be another main point taken.

god is not great

christopher hitchens is brilliant! i just finished reading his book god is not Great: how religion poisons everything.

by far the most eloquent article of prose that i have ever read though admittedly my reading selection is very limited. its obvious superior style to anything i have ever encountered, goes without saying underlying message in which its plainly laid out arguments contre religion, makes a strong case sans hesitation.

people just have to be aware of history to be persuaded of hitchen's thesis. a recognizable fact that the atrocities directly or indirectly, no matter what the scale, continue to plague us to this day.

hitchen's talk vividly about the conflicts purportedly made in the name of religion between catholics and protestants, between christians themselves, christians oppressing jews, jews oppressing moslems and back. between moslems themselves. hindus and moslems. etc which strongly suggests a pattern. given enough influence and power. religion will oppress and cause conflict.

he discussed the decadent barbarity of the old testament (leviticus comes to mind) and the themes outright of the new testament concerning anti-semitism and sexism. see paul land timothy.

he touched on other familiar topics. familiar as i have read them from elsewhere particularly in dawkin's god delusion. like the origins of religion in which we are actual witnesses to all sorts of emerging cults of today, ethics and laicité, briefly on science and social liberties and the role of religion being historically a constant opposition, and finally my personal favorite totalitarianism which deals with the most common reproach against atheism's most infamous.

depuis que j'ai crée une autre ville à cityville, il a devenu difficile à entretenir les deux (comme j'ai une autre ville à city of wonder).

je trouve que cityville est plus interessante et plus simple. et l'interaction entre des voisons est aussi plus profonde. on peut créer des franchises en visitant les autres villes (tes voisons), renommer les franchises, atteindre des buts, batir des logements, des decorations, des fermes ..

ET c'est en francais! ça signifie qu'on peut apprendre en jouant. youpi! on peut apprendre les mots francais pour un beaucoup des trucs. comme les mots pour fruits, les batiments, les marchandises,

c'est un peu comme simcity où on peut batir la ville de tes rêves ...

RPG metanoia

j'ai vu RPG metanoia.

je suis allé avec de petites espérances en pensant qu'il va être comme la fois passée que j'ai vu une animation philippine (panday on TV) qui était une complète catastrophe.

bien au contraire. RPG est peut-être le meilleur film dans la fête! OUI c'est ça! même plus meilleur que Rosario.

l'histoire est engageant et charmant. ce film de class mondiale a montré un uniquement caractère philippin (qui l'a fait super!!). tous les personnages ont des personalités unique. ils étaient tous sympathique et drole.

j'aime que le film a concentré sur la cultur philippine, les jeux qu'on a joué quand on est grandi, notre valeurs, et quelque comment notre identité. et le fait qu'il était fait pour philippins par philippins.

je souhaite que ce film serait montré autour du monde et peut-être le monde commencerait à nous apprecier plus. et peut-être nous commencerions à apprecier nous-même plus.

i saw RPG metanoia.

i went in with small expectations think that it is going to be like the last time i saw an animation made by filipinoes which was a complete disaster (panday cartoon on tv).

quite the opposite, RPG is perhaps the best film in the festival. yes that's right! even better than rosario.

the story is engaging and charming. this world class film showed a uniquely filipino character (which made the film. super!). all the characters were likeable and had personality.

i love that the film focused on philippine culture, the games with played growing up, our values, and somehow our identity. and the fact that it was made by filipinoes for filipinoes.

i wish that the movie would be shown around the world and maybe the world will appreciate us more. and maybe we would appreciate ourselves more.

i suffer from indignation at having recently learned that a film of less or zero worth had been rewarded with the most supreme recognition possible at this year's metro manila film festival.

i could only think of one reason of how a travesty of this scale can happen and that is, those responsible must have lacked the minimum capacity for appreciation of a real work of art. ANG TATANGA SIGURO NG MGA BUMOTO SA MMFFP ..

in defense of my point of view that the film rosario (the one and only film that) deserved to win, i list here why.

1. rosario was a period piece. from language, costumes, the production, and historical background. all the characters were bound by the politics and cultural identity of the time and therefore painted a convincing, albeit nostalgic and ruthless, illusion of circa 1920.

2. it is a tragedy. as with ancient great tragedies of human history, this one leaves us empty, shriveled and paradoxically wanting more. a haunting reminder of what we are all capable of, when under the influence of necessity and unmanaged desires.

3. it hosts an assemblage of highly respected, capable, and major knock-out (i-could-not-take-my-eyes-off-them) artists.

4. and finally, the other entries were evident clichés paling simply to the grandeur of what this film represents.

Metanoia démontre des possibilités sauf je fais le pari qu'il va manquer de humour. nécessaire pour ces type de films. la technologie qu'ils ont utilisé, semble en courant.

normalement, je n'aime pas regarder des films philippin parce que la plupart de temps ils sont ennuyeux. ils utilisent la même histoire la même formule encore et encore. à titre d'exemple, regarde Ang Tanging Ina Mo Rin, Last na to. et Shake Rattle & Roll XII. un peu pathetique n'est-ce pas?!?

à la fête de noël du bureau, j'ai gagné plusieurs cadeaux.

potentiellement un imprimante (printer) de e-copy, un auto-cuiseur de riz (rice cooker), 500 PHP gift certificate de ma monita, et 625 PHP de la présentation.

le repas était comme-ci comme-ça sauf peut-etre le pâte au pesto qui che n'aime pas pas du tout. je ne comprends pas pourquoi. peut-être c'est quelque chose qu'il faut apprendre à aimer.

je lis la biographie d'ayn rand par anne c. heller. je viens de lire la première moitié du livre. pour l'instant tout va bien. sa vie et ses pensées sont une inspiration. surtout les idées suivantes.

1. la réalité est l'objectif. elle ne peux pas être modifié par des voeux ou des emotions.

2. l'épistemologie. la connaissance vient de la raison (et la raison seul).

3. la moralité. intérêt personnel.

4. la politique. les droits individuels.

5. l'économie. une économie de marché.

6. sex. la réponse érotique à les valeurs intellectuelles.

je suis en accord définitivement avec sa philosophie d'individualisme. ça me fait un individualist. quelqu'un qui est contre les principes de la gauchiste libéral et le christian right.

mais comme une société je pense aussi qu'on a besoin de quelque type de socialisme. par exemple pour la santé et l'éducation. les deux seraient bon pour la société. n'est-ce pas? cependant, on doit penser de l'individuel.

je viens de conquerir l'empire songhaï.

l'empire a commencé à envahir les états-ville et un par un ont proposé pour de l'aide militaire d'égypte. il faut que je les ai aidé. il a commencé dans le sud du continent qui marche jusqu'à l'êtreme-orient.

dans la photo, on peut remarquer la carte des philippines (le style CIV5). héhé. tegdaoust était la capitale de l'empire songhaï quand il a perdu ses villes en afrique.

pour libérer des états-ville près de thebes, il faut déclarer la guerre contre askia de songhai qui a envahi capetown et lhasa dans la décennie passé. dès que capetown et lhasa étaient liberé, elles sont les deux toujours redevable (indebted) à moi. situé dans le sud d'égypt, elles agissent comme une tampon (buffer) entre notre royaumes. c'est comme la mongolie entre la chine et la russie.

1337: l'invasion anglais

cést la guerre de cent ans. un scenario CIV5 qui est composé de 5 parties dans laquelle 1337 est la première partie.

j'ai reussi de libérer toutes les villes de france continental qui étaient sous l'occupation d'angleterre en m'alliant aux états-villes.

à l'ouest il y a flanders de calais, blois de romorantin, nantes, et anjou d'angers. à l'est, il y a l'état pontifical d'avignon, burgundy de dijon, et dauphine de lyon. toutes les états-villes alliées me fourneraient très nécéssiteux avec de la cultur, d'or, du marbre, et du fer.

bayeux (face à northhampton) et abbeville (près de calais, face aux dover et hastings) étaient les villes-clés qui j'ai du defendre avec des nobles francais et des arbaléteurs.

depuis les anglais ont envoyé ses arcs long anglais à la coté de bayeux et j'ai reussie de les tenir, j'ai continué de reclamer le sud sous l'occupation où j'ai commencé à me venger de la ville de bourges. je me suis rallié des nobles francais à limoges, puis à perigueux, à bergerac, à cahors, à auch, et finalement à bordeaux.

as i described earlier my general plans for the city of MANILLE.

i relocated the foreign embassies out of the inner wall as i wanted to prioritize the building of marvels in it. with the pyramids of egypt as the centerpiece surrounded by other wonders of the world.

i find that pine trees for example suited the job perfectly of accentuating each wonder (or marvel in COW terms). the temple of luxor to the west. the hanging gardens to the east. to the south is the great wall of china. and then nearby is the stonehenge. i am currently working on le grand phare (11 more to go. aide-moi guys!).

id like to setup a kind of caste system in the city. there will be the local merchants in the business district, the intellectuals in their colleges and universities (and later laboratories), and then of course the city administration. i relocated all military structures outside the inner walls signifying the supreme authority of civil society over them. then to keep things clean, i decided to lace the inner city with roman villas and no other.

religion will play very little role in the city. i must admit that i had need of it at earlier levels to stabilize the happiness level of the citizens. but i am gearing towards a more scientific approach to happiness.

in the future i would hope to start working on the outer wall and develop a stronger offense/defense as other city states are probably eyeing MANILLE as we speak, as their target for their military conquests ..

c'est pogs. ma tortue dans son seau d'eau avant on est parti pour subic. je lui ai donné quelque chose à manger et lui a dit au revoir.

il est une toture de floride (a red eared slider) et un cadeau qui vient de l'halflin et son copain en cela temps. mais maintenant qu'ils se sont quitté, pogs represente une fin de l'époque.

ce week-end, ma mère a eu une operation de cataracte. elle a pris juste 30 minutes mais la préparation a pris 4 heures. quand mama est sorti, elle a porté des lunettes qui doivent venir d'ère spatiale. ;p

j'ai essayé de demander à l'halfelin de sortir (et probablement trouver un appartemment) mais il est sorti aves ses amis de travail. comme d'habitude, il a perdu son bon sens. et il se demande pourquoi il a mal de tête le jour suivant. maintenant, je ne suis pas ceratin si je veux vivre avec ça. en fait, je n'ai pas besoin de trouver un nouveau appartement. pas du tout. j'ai déjà sta. ana.

on a visité la cemetière le jour prochain en remarquant que papa était enterré près des tombes de présidente cory et son mari benigno. on a visité aussi les tombes de mon grand père (cenon) et mon oncle (cenon jr). mais il a commencé à pleuvoir à verse pour qu'on s'est pressé d'arrivér à la voiture.

un gars tout nu

voici un gars tout nu que j'ai dessiné et ai peint en utilisant un crayon noir, un sign pen, et une aquarelle.

il y a de plusieurs problemes dans ce dessin. les mains, les tibias (shin), les pieds nus par exemple ont besoin d'être amélioré. c'est ma faiblesse entre autres choses.

la bouche et le sourcil gauche sont un peu déplacés. le bicep droit est un peu plus épais que le bicep gauche aussi. bien que j'aime l'effet d'ensemble.

le weekend dernier, je suis sorti avec l'halfelin. on a pris une chambre à eurotel près de waltermart pour la nuit.

pour la première fois depuis des années, on est de retour derriere la table de jeu de role.

j'ai joué senor pigafetta qui un nain pyrotechnist (explosives manufacturer aka artificier). rico était ramirez l'elfe druide qui reste coince dans la forme panthère. et il a joué aussi miguel de l'ombre. un assassin mortel. chris a joué devlin (qui est originairement le caractère d'allan) et aussi zai un drow sorcière. edy était le maitre du donjon. on s'est battu contre une mini boss qui s'appelle FATALE. allan ne pourrait pas y arriver parce que son fille était malade.

"piggy" a reussi à faire rouler 2 critical hits avec mon mousquet. c'est tout que je souviens héhé. mais j'ai fait aussi de plusieurs erreurs. la semaine prochaine, je dois imprunter ma feuille de caractère. et puis, j'ai besoin de me familiariser avec ses pouvoirs (ses sortes). et finalement, donne lui un personalité et un regard. dessine lui mais pour maintenant, j'utilise ce dessin au dessus ..

j'ai utilisé de plusieurs services pour faire mes arbres généalogique. (1) genealogie.com. le site fait des arbres en GEDCOM qui est .. snip .. une spécification pour l'échange de données généalogique entre plusieurs systèmes ou logiciels de généaloqie.

comme tu peux voir, j'ai employé le format arbre descendant pour baldomero macapobre et hermogenes sales pour que les arbres conséquents montraient toute le monde (mes cousins, mes grand pères, mes grand mères, mes tantes et oncles).

en fait, le site fournit trois formats d'impression en produisant PDFs: arbre ascendant qui montre vos ancêtres, arbre descendant qui montre vos descendants, et arbre mixte qui montre les deux et les unions.

(2) avec scribd.com, je pourrais poster (partager) mes PDFs qui contiennent mes arbres en ligne. et puis, j'incorpore ces PDFs sur mon blog. et depuis je pourrais aussi mettre ces PDFs à jour sur scribd.com, les PDFs incorporés sur mon blog seraient mettre à jour aussi. YOUPI!!

i am again working on my family tree. i can't find the previous document i worked on a few years back. it was in word and visio format anyway and so it was not easy to manage.

(1) this time i placed our family tree information on www.genealogie.com and from there we can (2) download to a GEDCOM format (SNIP .. the de facto specification for exchanging genealogical data). il a été développée par l'église de jésus-christ des saints des derniers jours. putting the information into a standard is important because we are now allowing other genealogy tools access on our tree and then (3) using the GEDBrowser tool to generate the navigable site map on html.

for now we have an incomplete list of at the most 5 generations. i intend to improve it as i go along. putting in pictures, job descriptions, birthdays, and death dates.

it started with seemingly innocent online messages during a period when i was strictly forbidden to make friends particularly of that kind. in retrospect, taurus might have had a point all along considering. but i try to live my life without regret taking risks when the oppurtunity presents itself.

this has been my ultimate philosophy ever since that long winded period at university when i didn't do anything at all but waited for things to happen instead of taking fate by its reins.

when the taurus relationship ended, i was liberated. remember that song free as a bird played on the background. i quickly sought out familiar faces from before to find my way back. my world shrunked considerably.

nothing was resolved. everything had to be dramatic. harsh judgements, accusations, and guilt was constantly thrown to my face. not to mention next month's rent. héhé. a horrible incident which i will never forget, tipped the skewed balance of outweighed happy times over le cauchemar.

though i did want it to end, and like any other addiction, it was impossible at the start but eventually i was able to get over it realizing that it could never work even if i wanted it to. and that it was not good for me. for either of us. i rant because the taurus experience played a major role in my future decisions.

the private exchanges became more frequent and intimate believing it sincere and mutual. we opened ourselves telling each other of our experiences and hopes. we became more than just friends. the effect of this new found friendship was instantaneous and positive. it helped me to quickly forget.

it was never an exclusive arrangement. no promises were given. no commitments. and so i get jealous of everything. i had nothing to start with. i attempted to meet other people at the same time. i even went as far as hosting a partouze which was a complete catastrophe unworthy of mention.

yet i find myself consistently drawn to the halfling cuz we seemed to have hit it off or so i thought. a rare occurence. i'll find out later that i am just under a well orchestrated delusion of my own doing. deep and convincing, i was willing to give up everything even my family.

later, indescent proposals had been drawn and consumated without regard to the consequences. fuck other people. i am going to partake in this tiny slice of life. i felt alive. living dangerously like a true libertine able to experience the world sans fear, regrets, and inhibitions. able to love, think, and live freely.

when i thought i couldn't soar any higher, expectations were shattered beginning with the "trip". and then gradually the descent. a series of compromises, retreats, disappointments, and revelations.

what had been a downpour of private messages, to which i ahve grown accustomed to, has now been reduced to a trickle. frustating isn't it. except when something particular is needed. like company, money, or load. which i am happy to provide only i don't like the idea that it is almost always about getting something out of me rather than just being about me. -- do i make sense here? put it this way, i shudder to think that i won't be given due attention had i nothing to give. there is no longing for my company. no actual reciprocation. yet i refuse the idea that we used each other for personal gain. i know what i felt and it felt real.

soon the late night sleep overs, the tournaments and games, the self made fiestas, the kiss (not even), the cuddling (not even), the foreplay and erotic stories had become nothing more but shades. memories of a recent past. i feel like i have outlived my usefulness. like a toy, my job is to find a new master. ;p

when uncertainty becomes certainty as to what really is the purpose of it all, i realise that it was an affair that i dared to desperately pursue believing that it will lead to something more. for it was my only choice. i could not live with myself if i didn't.

et alors, c'est fini.

nous avons célébré l'anniversaire de maman à la MESA où nous avons prendre un repas somptueux. elle a soixante dix ans. elle est encore déprimé de la mort de papa. elle a la goutte et la cataracte mais sinon elle va bien. soupire. elle a une famille et ses amis qui l'aime bien.

after eating we took the kids to the playground near neutral grounds. the rest watched eclipse. and me i went ahead and bought finally a flash drive and an external dvd. my dvd drive at sta. ana had been acting up.

3 julliet est le quarantième jour après le mort de papa. traditionellement (catholique?) la période de deuil. hier 26 juin, nous avons mis son urne au columbarium où chaque niche est couvert en verre.

les autres "habitants" des columbaria étaient un bébé, des vieux, et un dodu (je me demande qu'il était). il y avait d'autres qui n'ont pas des photos. ceux qui ont eu leur photos, ne sont pas apparus être mort. pas du tout.

il y a des certains qui n'ont pas approuvé incinérer les restes de papa pour des raisons superstitieux. ils ont l'intention de s'imposer leur croyances à nous qui je n'apprecie pas. et des autres qui ne peuvent pas s'arrêter de se vanter de leur tres onéreux cercueils. c'est trop misérable.

je suis arrivé à comprendre qu'il coute trop cher de mourir. il y avait des frais de l'hospital, des frais de medecins, de service funèbre, la veillée (the wake), l'urn qui va contenir les restes de papa, la columbarium qui va contenir l'urne, les frais de pretre (1k PHP chaque masse), le cerceuil (coffin), la cremation, le repas que nous avons servi pendant la veillée etc ..

peux-tu imaginer comment le pauvre va réussir? c'est un autre cas où je pense de socialisme. que l'état doit s'occuper de ces choses. dahil namatayan ka na nga. pinagkakitahan ka pa. you are already dealing with loss in the family. that instead of building basketball courts on every corner of the city, use our taxes where it really counts.

ils ont eu un orateur invité. justice eugenio labitoria. il est un avocat et il appartient à l'ordre des chevaliers de rizal. un patriot et un franc-maçon. je me suis amusé en lui entendant. pour reussir dans la vie, il a dit qu'on doit avoir des CHICKS. il a parlé aussi de la discrimination entre des éthnies, entre des écoles (dlsu, up, ateneo et les autres), entre la catégorie sociale.

l'héritier du trone. je viens de finir une campagne de wesnoth. il a dit que c'était une campagne facile mais chaque étape (carte) s'est averée plus difficile que la dernière. je joue konrad le héritier légitime du trone et avec defaldor un sorcièr puissant. on est allée autour wesnoth pour obtenir le sceptre du feu qui prouve ma légitimité et mis la reine usurpatrice en échec.

j'ai aussi essayé de jouer torchlight mais il a devenu ennuyeux à niveau 30. c'est comme diable 3 sauf je le trouve si barbant.

et puis j'attends civilisation 5 et starcraft 2 (et bien sur diable 3) avec l'impatience.

hier (vendredi) j'ai fait une pause de travail et suis allé chez ma mère à san pedro. il fait trop chaud dehors, j'ai eu un mal de tête. et alors, j'ai dormi toute la journée.

depuis mon père est mort, ma mère a été déprimé. elle pleure sans cesse. et moi, j'ai passé mes jours essayant de me divertir avec mes livres. je lis (magellan: sur le bord du monde) et les evangiles gnostiques. je ne finis pas encore le livre anthropologie telle qu'il est.

we are doing ok. i believe the worst is over. the day we went home from the hospital was probably it. and also the short moment we walked behind the hearse on the way to the crematorium.

it has been a week.

mama .. she's undergoing the normal process of grieving. she would cry on occasion. when she sees or hears something that would remind her of papa. like his clothes stacked up on a pile in the room where papa stayed when he was with us.

we have papa where the altar used to be (down the hall towards the bedrooms) and a large picture of him beside his urn. the same picture we used during his wake. his face rather somber but regal at the same time. i'd take a picture and then post it later.

several kids mama's grandchildren are currently staying with us at laguna to keep her occupied. you know how little kids could be. héhé. then ruth, kuya renan, and ronnie our youngest are also living with her. me. i try to go home whenever possible.

thanks again for all of you. your compassion and kindness means a great deal to me and the family.

mon père a quitté cette vie cet après-midi 24 mai 2010. ses restes seront transférés au funeraria paz manila mermorial sucat paranaque de 25 mai à 27 mai.

i went to work earlier than usual to attend to a meeting. i lost my phone over the weekend and had no way to contact the family except thru the internet. a few chat messages later i was able to get through my brother. papa was at the hospital since the weekend. i didn't put much thought on it until i got a message that he won't last the day.

PGH wasn't as horrible as people potray it to be. it was bad and crowded maybe compared to other hospitals, but for ordinary people like us and with the absence of universal healthcare. it served our purposes. when i arrived at room 534 PGH, papa was already unconcious. his eyes slightly opened, were staring into space. a breathing machine and tubes were helping him breathe.

i called out to him. "papa?! si jun to (papa c'est moi jun)". i massaged his arms, hands and feet. i was hoping that he'd wake up or he'd show some kind of response. it was lunch time and i didn't have anything to eat that morning. i invited everyone to lunch. kuya stayed with papa while the rest of us went to the mall beside the hospital. "papa. kain lang kami ha (papa nous allons prendre le déjeuner)". still no response.

at lunch we talked about what happened over the weekend, when papa started to deteriorate. we discussed options for papa. i was for not letting papa suffer anymore. i was thinking about the times when we used to eat out with papa. and i thought how much he'd enjoy spending time with us. when we were done, we got a text from kuya that we all need to get back. we all knew what it meant.

when we got back, the breathing machine was already turned off. i went over to papa's side and stroked his hands. i called out to him and noticed that he had tears in his eyes (they weren't there before). was he concious but was unable to communicate? was it just natural reflex? kuya then told us that he was gone. his heartbeat had stopped for good. a nurse had him on ECG which showed flat for "documentation" purposes. another nurse came to clean him up, had started to refer to papa as the cadaver. heartless witch.

i find out later that at 6h30 that morning. his heart stopped for 21 minutes and was revived. the doctor says that 21 minutes was too long a time for the brain to survive without oxygen. it means that when we all got there he was already brain dead. he had aneurysm.

he'd been sick almost a year. it started when he was making a speech at my brother's birthday. when he just suddenly cried, seemingly lost, and then later became unusually quiet. when we took him to the hospital (he was difficult), the doctor informed us what needs to be done. he has gone downhill from there maybe hastened by the fact that he was stubborn and refused to take his medicine. he had a problem with his kidney and he had hypertension.

i miss you papa especially our debates. how it would be like for you to know the real me. if there is indeed an afterlife, you would know by now what i am talking about. we didn't see eye to eye on many things. religion, politics, and several other things that we all take for granted. how we treat each other. but i acknowledge the great sacrifice you have done spending a decade abroad away from the people you love. this has caused a deep divide between us that i wonder if it was all worth it. i think not.

i write this morning so i won't forget ..

Je suis Louis XIV (France) en jouant la difficulté Seigneur de guerre (qui signifie je dois surveiller mon arriere héhé).

En Asie, Il y a Qin Shi Huangdi (Empire du milieu) et Tokugawa Ieyasu (Japon), Ashoka (Indie), et Gengis Khan (Mongolie). En Europe, Il y a Frédéric II (Saint Empire Romain), Elizabeth (Empire britannique), Isabel (Empire espagnol), et Pierre le Grand (Empire russe). En Afrique, Il y a Saladin (Empire arabe) et Kankan Moussa (Empire malien). Dans le Nouveau Monde, il y a Huanya Capac (Empire inca) et Montezuma II (Empire aztèque). Il y a aussi Basil (les Empire byzantin), Sweyn à la barbe-fourchue, et les autres barbares qui sont les creeps du jeu. ;p

Je commence avec trois villes. Paris (La capitale), Bourdeaux, et Marseilles. France (et le reste d'europe) est à la guerre contre Saladin dans le sud, contre Basil dans le nord, et contre sweyn dans l'est. Depuis Frédéric, Elizabeth, et Piere se sont occupé de Sweyn et Basil, France s'est occupé de Saladin en capturant les villes de Tunis, Syracuse, et Tripoli.

l'ascension de rome

j'étais ptolémée d'égypt contre augustus césar de rome, hannibal de carthage, et phyrrus de grèce. ;p

j'ai reussi de construire le stonehenge, un mondial merveilleux à memphis. la capitale. au suivant, j'ai liberé les citoyens d'antioche. j'ai écrasé les secondaires par conséquent. il faut que j'ai propagé la mythologie égyptienne jusqu'aux toutes les villes en batissant des bibliothéques, des universités, des temples, des remparts, et mes defenses. le symbole de scarabe apparait sur la ville quand elle convertit. il y a eu quelques villes qui adorent déjà judaisme alors j'ai construit des synagogues. et depuis je suis un supporter des arts, j'ai bati aussi des theatres et des arènes (coliseums). j'ai étendu l'empire par fondant les villes de thebes, d'héliopolis, d'éléphantine à l'est et les villes de gaza et de biblos au nord. l'empire a prosperé.

si tu regardes attentivement à la photo, on pourrait voir les pyramides et le stonehenge à memphis. et puis, la grande phare à alexandrie qui est où hypatia la philosophe habite. héhé j'ai pensé qu'il serait gentil si j'ai pris remarquer de ce fait. je me demande pourquoi ils ne incluent pas la grande bibliothéque d'alexandrie dans ce scenario?

la première guerre - et puis il est arrivé. phyrrus a declaré une guerre contre egypt. j'ai essayé de demander pour aide de rome et de carthage mais apparemment, ils ne m'aiment assez pas. j'ai reussi de détourner son attaque. mes archers ameliorés ont combattu bravement derrière les remparts. en attendant, des barbares de toutes les directions font leur approche.

la deuxième guerre - la ville de petra (grèce), sud de gaza est tombée en premier aux mains des égyptien empire. mais cette victoire est court car les villes de sida et gaza sont déjà assiégé à moins que j'ai reussi d'envoyer mes armées en temps.

pour autant que je sache, il n'y a pas des candidats qui a passé parfaitement mes critères sauf peut-être ... gordon ou gibo. et je me demande ce que des autres utilisent pour choisir les leurs. et vous?

2. il/elle doit respecter la science et la laicité.
3. il/elle doit avoir une précédente experience dans le gouvernement.

Mysteriously (or not), I can't find any significant article on the internet which discusses his educational background. Did he finish school at all? Currently, his advocacies page is being updated which leaves a lot still to be known about his plans and his views. I remember watching news reports that he is pro condom and pro gay rights. I have the impression that he is the most simplistic. His formula is the same formula used by every candidate. Bring economic development by bringing in capital.

if the philippines was reduced to 5 slots. 1 slot was used to produce 3 food. another slot was used for school. another slot was used for hospital. let us say we had 3 (A,B,C) people. each person occupies a slot and consumes 1 food per year. this gives us 2 empty spaces for development. also let us say the school can only teach 2 students in a year. and a hospital can only accomodate 2 patients.

1 for food which produces 3 food - A lives here
2 for a hospital - B lives here
3 for a school - C lives here
4 empty
5 empty

let us say A and B had 3 children. D C E. Presumably D and C will occupy slot 4 and 5. E would be homeless. Since only 3 food is produced per year D, C, and E will go hungry unless we convert slot 4 and 5 into farming land as well. Since C can only accomodate for 2 students, E would be left unskilled and uneducated. If anyone gets sick, up to only 2 patients can be taken in. The rest will have to wait next year or 4 and 5 can be converted to a hospital to accomodate more patients.

the model is rather simplistic but i think an effective model to demonstrate what is over population. many people are in denial about it in the philippines which excacerbates the problem. we think our cities are overpopulated but not the rural areas. the rural areas lack the jobs to support its population. this in turn prompts rural folk to migrate to the cities. but since they do not have the right skills to compete and get jobs. they become the poor, the squatters. crime increases. it is all connected. don't you think?

i observed this in pc games like sim city and civilisation. i know theyre way scaled down and doesn't necessarily reflect reality. but think about it, it is exactly what is happening ..

overpopulation is about the lack of resources to support the population. resources like classrooms, food, jobs, medical services, nurses, doctors, teachers etc. if we continue this path of producing too many people without increasing resources, then we continue to subject those of which who are vulnerable and unskilled to poverty and other social ills.

BOOST algoritm split

when we want to split a string with delimeters and put them in an array. this was kind of mind blowing if you are used to doing things on your own. i was ready to set out and do some heavy loops on this one, particularly since the delimeters could be a string pattern rather than just a simple carraige return or comma. i was already imagining how i would read each character and make comparisons to the delimeter string pattern. identify a line. and then push it back to the array. phew.

luckily, i stayed behind late enough to find out that boost offers a better and neat way of handling this kind of problem. the solution is reduced into a single call. amazing!

2. declare the thread group which creates threads and a pointer to the created threads for later reference
